The Unflowing River

There was a ghost river. It was only visible in the rainy season.. And disappered slowly there after. During the rain, it would sweep everything in the village... And during drought, it wasn't able to provide for the villagers: because all of its water had been swept into the ocean.

This's a story of the river that just had enough of sharing its water to bigger trubitaries, and finally to the ocean. And it was there only when there was water abaduunce, to change this It made sure every rainy day to encave all the paths on its way,
In real sense, the river didn't dig itself ... There must be someone behind the digging..
Slowly and slowly, the river eroded its path into valley, making it much more deeper. So it was able to at least hold more water during the sunny days, the water was able to sustain the villagers until the next rainy season.
The river Of pain.. Jumbled with sorrow and grief, turned out to be relevant after all.
Every rainy season, it would keep on digging deeper and deeper. And it turned out to be more and more reliable.
It had very big thirst during flood, it would swallow all the flood water, saving the village the calamities.
It was no longer a river, it was now a lake. Its was named Lake Tamir.

Jamal Tamir
The lake was named after a village worrier, Jamal Tamir. He was behind the digging of the valleys. At the time, nobody believed him or what he was doing. He said most of his strength came from the waters, that we have to preserve the precious commodity.
He was a very good deep diver... And he used his skills to help the lake broaden... He mainly loosened the hard soils and rocks, so that it could be easily be swept out by the waters.

There was a time the fishermen found him unconsciously afloat by the shore, with most parts of his clothes ripped off from scratches that looked like bites all over his body... From the look of the wounds, he looked like he was attacked probably by a school of fish: big fishes.

There's this ancient Chinese technique used to repair damaged skin, especially the burnt skin, in which a layer of fish skin is layed underneath the burnt skin surface.
He was in a coma for three months, and when he woke up, the first thing he said when he was asked what happened: "Maybe it was a sign the lake is signaling me to stop digging."
"Do you remember any dreams or vision while you were in the coma?"
"Not that i can remember..."
A better part of his body was eaten by the fish. That's why he keeps most of his body covered.

Nowadays he just patrol around the lake with his riffle. Waiting for the worst that can happen. Enjoying seeing Bakr and his fishermen fishing in the far mid lake, and the village kids swimming in the close shores.

He trusted Bark wouldn't shit where he was eating, so he going on a trip far from here, a trip he had been waiting to go for a long time now.
Third day since Tamir is gone, everything started as usual in the lake... With the Bark army early rising to start their normal activities.
One day Bark lost grip of his net, and the nest went deep down. He had only one net let, so without thinking twice, he just jumped in, even though he had never done deep dive before..

He was out of breath when he was back up. In his net there were some stones that they later learned that they were gold.

When Tamir returned, he was surprised to find the lake empty... So he went closer to check... On the base, there were a number of fishermen turned gold miners, and a number of alive fishes still jumping. The water was still flowing in, by all was swallowed by the earth. A deep abyss underneath the lake... Where and how did it get there.
The most difficult task was for Tamar to enter the abyss and find the problem there was.
Down under, there seemed to be a collection of stones... Most likely it be the precious stones.. So most likely according to the assumption, the spirit of the gods lived in the ocean in form of the stones.
The fishermen thought it was gold, but this stones are way precious beyond any known minerals.
In short, the lake was hiding the stones deep away from the people. So it was up to Tamir to seal the abyss and fill the lake again.
Lake Tamir.
